Zone of Choice Enrollment

Technology Preparatory Academy is located in the LAUSD North Valley Zone of Choice, which means enrollment is open to all students in the area through the Zone of Choice application process.

What is the Zone of Choice?

Zones of Choice are geographic areas comprised of multiple high school options that emerged as a strategy to increase the number of personalized educational options available to students. The school options in each zone are open to all resident students. Below are the steps to verify if you belong to our Zone as well as how to enroll with the Zone of Choice application.

Step 1: Verify if you belong to our Zone. Go to http://rsi.lausd.net/ResidentSchoolIdentifier/ and type in your current home address. If our school is one of the options in your area, then you may proceed to step two. If your home address does not pertain to the area, then please make sure to apply to school designated to your zone.

Step 2: Proceed to fill out the Zone of Choice application that is available at the Cesar Chavez Learning Academies Main Office, or online at http://achieve.lausd.net/Page/4867. Make sure to fill out all the information correctly. At the bottom of the application there is a selection of schools, make sure to fill in every box from 1-10 based on your school of preference.

Step 3: You can Email the Application to [email protected] or Fax the application to (213) 241– 4108. If you are not able to do so then we will be more than willing to help you with that at the TPA Main Office.

Step 4: Wait for the district to reach out to you on the Primary or Alternate Phone numbers you indicated on the application to inform you on what school the student was assigned. Once the student is assigned to a school, make sure to visit the school of placement to proceed with enrollment (enrollment may differ by school).
